Kosovo’s U20 NT was defeated by Portugal, in the first game of the European Championship, Group B, Division B, taking place in Hungary.
Kosovo played better in the beginning of the game and finished the first quarter with the result 14:10. From the beginning it was obvious that there won’t be many scoring during the game, but in some parts of the game Kosovo collapsed and that helped Portugal to finish the first half with a 5 point lead (29:24).
Portugal increased the lead to 10 points after the third quarter but Kosovo managed to decrease the lead to 7 in the beginning of the fourth quarter.
However, after a timeout, Portugal achieved a series of 8:0, increasing the lead to 60:45 only 2 minutes before the end of the game and secured the victory.
The leaders of Portugal were Relvao with 16 points, 16 rebounds and Da Silva with 20 points.
Kosovo’s most efficient players were Arian Memeti with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Samir Zekiqi with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The day after tomorrow, Kosovo will play against the group favorite, Montenegro.
